ITINERARY:

Enjoy a full day tour as introduction to Bogotá and Colombia. Visiting the outstanding attractions and icons of Bootá ending in the world´s biggest Salt cathedral.

Tour to the Salt cathedral in Zipaquira 

The Salt cathedral is a former salt mine that has been converted in a cathedral by local and Colombian engineers. It presents a perfect symbology between the man work and the beautiful forms created by God and nature. The visitors can go to the deepest naves of the salt cathedral 180 meters underground where are located the main highlights.

Monserrate hill and its Church: It is a wonderful hill located in the 3.150 meters / 10.335 feets above sea level, that has become Bogota’s symbol that you can go up either Funicular or Cable car to the top. From where you will see the gorgeous Sanctuary where is “El señor caido de Monserrate“ a special sculpture to search for peace and reconciliation. Also the tour guide will do the explanation about the monastery then you will appreciate the both attractions a beautiful landscape and amazing views of the all city and then your tour guide will tell you the present social situation and political situation, besides interesting stories and Bogota best kept secrets to understand a bit about the Bogota structure. Note: Every Sunday we will change the visit to Guadalupe Hill instead of Monserrate due of the high porcentage of visitors on Sundays

Historical center of Bogotá, Candelaria: It is a beautiful colonial area where Bogotá born and is composed for beautiful colonial architecture mix with a bohemian atmosphere. in this area are located very interesting attractions which you will visit thas (Botero museum, Casa de la moneda / numismatic museum, Luis Ángel Arango library, Gabriel Garcia Marquez cultural center).

Bolivar Square: It is the main administrative center of Colombia. Where are located the important atracttions like; The national capitol, Bogota mayor office, the religious street and the Colombian Court house. Over there your private tour guide will tell you the most important political topics and Colombian stories related about the Colombian growing, Military situation and social situation.

The tour starts from Bogota to a private “hacienda” (coffee plantation). Rounded by a beautiful garden where you can appreciate the real native plants from our tropical weather, typical plants and flowers from this region: as Orchids, Bromelia, Cacao and Bamboo.

Afterwards, you will be introduced to the culture of coffee: its different types of crops, its different colors and sizes of beans. You will also could learn how to pick up the coffee and identify the best coffee beans from the plants. Then the natural enemies of the coffee (parasites) and the mutations of coffee plants will be explained.

Moreover pulping, drying, roasting, packaging will be introduced to you. Finally, the customer will test the flavor of a good quality coffee with an included coffee cup. Then we will offer you as part of the experience a fruit test and a typical lunch.

Bogota / Medellin.

Transfer (Hotel – Bogota airport) + Transfer (Medellin (JMC) airport – Hotel in Medellin).

According to the available time after arrival time in Medellin we will recomend things to do during the rest of days.

Medellin City tour duration: 

6 Hours. Aproximately. 

Starting from Medellin on our tour to Guatape and Peñol you will enjoy a typical Colombian Daytrip with a Colombian style. At 1.5 hour from Medellin. you will visit Guatape town and the famous stone and view – panoramic point named “La piedra del peñol” which is a monolith from where is enjoyable the view of the dam of Guatape and its small islands creating private areas for some High class – rich owners.

ITINERARY:

 Our first stop is at el Peñol town.

 Peñol´stone.  With 220 meter of high to climb it are 700 stairs,  At the top you will get an amazing view of 360° of the Guatapé dam.

 Short walking guided tour will be made around the Guatape town to visualize its characteristic architecture named “Zocalos” and its beatifull landscapes.

Note:  Ticket to get in to Peñol´stone is not included .
